But I did get quite excited about it in the run up and recorded the whole thing on tape. I had the tapes for a few years but as time went on I stopped bothering. Not even the Bowie performance excites me now.
At the time though - there was Bowie, The Who - who hadn't played together for quite a while I seem to remember - the Stones, some of Led Zep, Ultravox, Style Council, Thomas Dolby, and others, that I was very interested in seeing.
though next day all anyone ever talked about was fucking Queen.
In the evening there was a school meet up in a nearby pub. We were all meeting for one last time before dispersing off across the country.
