Silver Jubilee - I was in Jeffrey's class and he was very royalist. Wouldn't have taken kindly to any dissent. We ordered our cups and coin through the school. The street parties were in the summer. I don't remember them and I'm pretty sure we didn't go.
I had a Boys Brigade trip - probably Looe. I'd been a member since around 74 or 75 - and Lisa went into the Girls Brigade. And so began my little dalliance with religion, which came to a head in 1978, or early 79 when i stormed out of the BB over an argument/ the first of many umhappy endings and stormings out of things.
I'd just turned 11. I felt like I was getting pretty grown up now. But 11 years old meant 11 plus and that terified me.
