Dream
New
job on station on Underground: Liv St.
Turned
out not to be job, and not to be Liv St, and then I thought I might have turned
up at the wrong time; 7.30 pm instead of am.
Bus
queue
Dirt stained pavement
Grey
darkening sky
Untidy
queue of people
Tired,
unhappy people
Traffic
noise and dirt
Like
discarded pieces from a child’s game
Wind
gusts
Fish
and chip smell
Shuffling
and fidgeting
Back
aches, foot sore
Bus
arrives
Shuffle
of excitement
Expectation
– like a herd of grazing animals
Unpolarised
metal facing in a all directions
The
bus like a magnet
We
all point north
Shuffling
forward like penguins
[think
this is about catching a bus on Camberwell Road to go to work]

Woken
up at 5.30 by next door's crap music. S in spare room, don't know why. Listened
to R4 theme tune, Farming Today, Prayer for Today, and then politicians on why
other politicians are shit and lie.
Got
up 7.30 after falling asleep for short while. Dreamt about RTS action on
balcony which went right round top of tall building. It was a medieaval street.
RTSers were crammed into space - multi-level - with police trying to control
us. I was waiting for confrontation, that's why I was there. Andy Willis was
there, as was Colin Napton. Colin wasn't happy with the politics and at some
point turned against the demo. Colin and Andy were pretty much together during
action, and I was in the thick of it, trying to lead or attempt direct action.
One
of main organisers asked me to go to his flat to get toilet paper as we had run
out. This was to be a dangerous and dificult thing to do, as I was to climb
down part of building, go through crowd, and cross a police line. There was a
shop with woman customer getting extremely arsey towards woman serving even
though she had done nothing. She claimed stuff, and was going to make a
complaint. I intervened and told girl she could quote me as a witness to say
she'd done nothing and customer had a bad attitude.
Had
a bath, coffee, read Observer. Saw loonies in noisy, trendy young persons flat
shouting hello to passers by. S+++ said they might be on speed. They bloody
woke me up at 5.30 with shit soul music.
R4
full of new outbreaks of foot and mouth. Gov are having to reintroduce the
harsh isolation stuff again. And restricting movement. Farmers are not happy.
Sat
on bench with coffee and Porgy. Then rushed to leave. Ran bath for S. Left.
Rats were asking for food, but didn't have time. I'll need to feed them
tonight.
Rode
into work in 30 minutes. Hot and dry weather. Lots of cyclists. They completely
blocked left hand lane on cycle lane at Hyde Park Corner.
Park
was packed even at 9.00. Girls in dresses and short skirts. I'm envious as I'm
stuck in bloody trousers.
Got
to work at 9.10 and 3 other bikes in rack. Nick talked to me on way back from
canteen. Then asked me if I knew anything about
BNC plugs. I said yes and offered to wire up box. The box in question is
the one WSL built for connecting to ATP controller in code sweeps. But it
doesn't work cos plugs aren't isolated from earth. They are earthing through
the case.
Checked
my money. Still OK.
Bedros
dropped by just before lunch saving me the trip to 30TSC. IT was just to tell
me that I'm transferred over to Asset Maintain, so now I work for Jeff Wood,
and Bedros no more. Hurrah! S+++ phoned while Bedros was here.
Sorted
old newspapers and managed to chuck loads out.
Left
work at 4.50. Got home 5.20. Rushed to get stuff in bag and get to laundrette
for 5.30. Then met S+++ on way home. Finished laundry by 7.00. Cuddled up and went
to cook. Manage to piss S+++ off, she stormed out of kitchen and slammed doors.
Stayed out of her way till 9.00. Dysoned flat, cleaned up kitchen, did dishes,
cleaned rats, software for chat site. S+++ admitted she had the arsehole and hoped
that she wouldn't tomorrow.
I
stayed out of the way as much as possible. Had a quick bath.
Got
into bed but we didn't talk at all. S+++ stayed up reading till after 1.00 and I
didn't sleep. Still awake at 3am.
